This summer Upper First in Malmö asked me to edit and color grade their latest commercial for IsaDora’s new mascara. It was made in two versions, a 20s TV commercial and this full length film.
It was shot in Copenhagen on a RED Epic which I later edited in Final Cut… X! Yes, I wanted to give it a honest try despite what people and my self for that matter has said about it. I think we all think wrong about the editing software as we come from AVID, Premiere and FCP7 and think that it will work the same way, but thinking from a new perspective using the software, you fins a lot of great features… however a lot of good old features have also been removed. But here’s the edit from Final Cut Pro X. We’ll se if I’ll use it again or go back to version 7 or Premiere. Time will tell. Yada yada yada… the grading was made in DaVinci Resolve ofcourse with warm tones from some great references from the client. I’m thinking “South of France a very warm day after a few glasses of rosé wine…” and it turned out great. I’m happy. The guys at Upper First are happy. IsaDora is happy. Now, ever you are happy!
